Public transport
Best for a lower-cost trip focused on one reachable town. It becomes less convenient when you try to join several villages in one day, especially where services are infrequent.
Check current services directly with operators before travelling; routes and timetables change.
Group coach tour
Best for a ready-made itinerary and a lower per-person cost than most private options. The compromise is a fixed schedule, fixed stops and travelling with a larger group.
Taxi or private hire
Useful for a direct out-and-back journey. A multi-stop day needs the driver, waiting time, full route and return agreed in advance, which usually costs more than it first appears.
Private day tour
Best for a planned circular route, a private pace and one clear price for the party. It is the highest-cost option for a solo traveller and becomes competitive at three or four people.
Our three days all start and finish in Bath, with hotel or station pickup included.
The Cotswolds Day Trip
Castle Combe before the coaches arrive, then the towns most day trips drive straight past. Lunch at the Old Spot Inn in Dursley.
£565for one guest, lunch included
